The Flute Player’s Plan

Tears of the Kingdom. This quest is part of the series needed to complete the Great Fairy Quest, “Serenade to Kaysa,” located at the Outskirt Stable.

Overview

This quest involves assisting the missing flutist, Pyper, in cheering up a girl by creating a glowing tree. You can find this quest far south past Lake Hylia at the Highland Stable in Faron.

How to Find and Help Pyper

This quest can be discovered while exploring or more straightforwardly while undertaking the quest to bring out the Great Fairy Kaysa from her fountain near the Outskirt Stable. When you speak to Mastro at the stable, you learn that Pyper, the troupe’s flutist, has disappeared. A stablehand mentions that Pyper may have followed his younger sister to another stable in the Faron region to the southeast. Once you start this quest with Mastro, he will not appear at any other stable until you complete it.

Head to the Highland Stable south of Lake Hylia. Avoid the bridge to bypass the giant Gleeok guarding it. At the Highland Stable, you will meet Haite, a girl angry at Pyper, who has disappeared into a nearby tree. Pyper is actually hiding just outside the stable, up high in a tree, trying to make Haite happy again. He requests 10 Sunset Fireflies to mend the situation.

Collecting Sunset Fireflies

At night, you can find plenty of fireflies in the Pagos, Faron, and Finra Woods north of the stables. Beware of wandering Bokoblins or Stalkoblins. Sneak up on the fireflies and catch them. If this proves too difficult, you can purchase fireflies from the traveling merchant Eryck, who sells 5 fireflies for 10 rupees each, along the road leading from the stable towards Lake Hylia.

Completing the Quest

Return to Pyper with the fireflies. He will then ask you to bring Haite to the tree the following night. Haite will be sitting in the middle of the stable. After the scene concludes, Pyper will be ready to return to the troupe, completing the quest.
